Wahga is a village and union council in Punjab, Pakistan's Wahga Zone, located in Lahore. On the ancient Grand Trunk Road that connects Amritsar and Lahore is a Pakistani village called Wagah. The best time to visit is in the evening to view the Pakistan Rangers' superb work and the flag ceremony.
The Wagah border ceremony is well-known in the town, which also functions as a goods transit terminal and a railway station between Pakistan and India. Wagah Border is Located about 32 km from Amritsar. Wagah is a village in Pakistan located on the historic Grand Trunk Road that passes between Amritsar and Lahore. The Radcliffe Line or the boundary line dividing India and Pakistan was drawn here, on the Indian side of the village, during the partition of India. This border crossing draws its name from the village where it is located and hence is called Wagah Border.
Everyday Flag lowering ceremony takes place that is free to attend. During Independence Day and Pakistan day, the area is packed with tourists from both sides.
This place serves cultural importance due to Radcliffe line, that served as dividing border between India and Pakistan, this route was the main route taken by millions of immigrants. Families, group of friends and relatives can visit this area to watch the ceremony

واہگہ بارڈر امرتسر سے تقریباً 32 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر واقع، واہگہ پاکستان کا ایک گاؤں ہے جو تاریخی گرینڈ ٹرنک روڈ پر واقع ہے جو امرتسر اور لاہور کے درمیان سے گزرتی ہے۔ ریڈکلف لائن یا ہندوستان اور پاکستان کو تقسیم کرنے والی باؤنڈری لائن ہندوستان کی تقسیم کے وقت یہاں گاؤں کے ہندوستانی حصے پر کھینچی گئی تھی۔ اس سرحدی کراسنگ کا نام اس گاؤں سے آیا جہاں یہ واقع ہے اور اسی لیے اسے واہگہ بارڈر کہا جاتا ہے۔
ہر روز پرچم اتارنے کی تقریب ہوتی ہے جس میں شرکت کے لیے فیس نہیں ہے۔ یوم آزادی اور یوم پاکستان کے موقع پر یہ علاقہ دونوں اطراف سے سیاحوں سے بھرا ہوتا ہے۔
یہ جگہ ریڈکلف لائن کی وجہ سے ثقافتی اہمیت کا حامل ہے، جو کہ ہندوستان اور پاکستان کے درمیان تقسیم کرنے والی سرحد کے طور پر کام کرتی تھی، یہ راستہ لاکھوں تارکین وطن کے لیے جانے والا مرکزی راستہ تھا۔ اہل خانہ، دوستوں کا گروپ اور رشتہ دار تقریب دیکھنے کے لیے اس علاقے کا دورہ کر سکتے ہیں۔
